RE:Buying a mini cooper
Ok, found out that I need to do the puspakom check. Runner can do the puspakom check and owner transfer.
Are the chassis numbers of malaysian minis different from uk minis? http://www.minimania.com/ArticleV.cfm?DisplayType=Technical%20Information&DisplayID=1489&SCatagory=General
the chassis plate on the cooper I am going to buy starts with 'M' and is just printed on a silver pice of metal with no other markings. Is this normal?
Please help, or direct me to someone who can. Thanks

Buying a mini cooper
Hello, I am about to buy a mini cooper MK1 with 1.3m, am very very excited. But first, I need some advice on the grant and legality of the car.
In the grant, the 'buatan' is left blank, while the 'nama model' is mini cooper. Also, the 'No. Casis' is MA2XX-XXXXXX and 'keupayaan enjin' is 988 S.P. It is a printed grant, so I am wondering if the JPJ officer might have keyed in the wrong info. However, the car has a valid roadtax.
This is my first car, so I am not very familiar with the procedure of ownership transfer at JPJ.
1. Does the car need to undergo a puspakom check before transferring ownership?
2. If JPJ approves the ownership tranfer, does that mean my car is genuine?
3. What is a sure fire way of identifying a mk1 cooper from a normal mini?
4. Is it possible to get a runner to do the ownership transfer?
Thanks in advance for your help, guys
