In 1929, Ford Company of Malaya was established to handle the assembly and distribution of Ford vehicles through retail dealers in Singapore, the Federation states, North Borneo and Sarawak. 

In 1956, 30 years after the company's establishment, the 60,000th vehicle to be delivered to customers by Ford Malaya rolled off the assembly line expresses the basic Ford policy of bringing their cars to owners the benefits of local assembly and stocks of service parts.
